I AM WHAT I AM

The Phoenix Rising: United States; I’m not a shy or weird. I’m quiet & reserved. I have my moments. I’m a goofball with a serious side. No one will ever say I'm charming. I’m told I’m funny. I’ll never be considered romantic. I’ve been told I’m sweet. I’ll be the last guy thought of but the first when you need to think. I’m a danger to be with but you’ll always be safe when I’m around. I will always fight the stigma of being seen for what I am instead of who I am. I'll never be able to change that. It is what it is. Sometimes it takes darkness to see the light. With age comes wisdom. With wisdom comes knowlege. With knowledge comes light. With light the darkness can't shine. I’m going to show you who I am. Just take my hand. We’re going deep to the space between spaces where the light doesn’t shine. Into the crack where one part resides. Hold on tightly. I’m letting you into the corners of my mind. Close your eyes and you’ll see. I’m darker than the light. Brighter than the night. I elude your dreams. Absent in your thoughts. Present in the time. Lost in the scene. But there’s more to me. This is a place where I can express my thoughts and opinions, vent my frustrations and talk about my struggles and demons. I live, experience, feel, think and then type. It’s a form of therapy for me. I don't like drama. I don't like being the center of attention. I'm a sufferer in silence type. I bit my tongue a lot. I like to stay off the radar. Someone has it worse. I understand that. It could always be worse. I'm trying to deal as best as I can on this third rock from the sun.

I'm old fashioned. A hand shake amongst two men shoud still mean something but I don't think a woman belongs in the kitchen. There use to be line people didn't cross with one another or in society. We need to get back to that.

I’m a sappy hopeless romantic but I’m also a realist. True love and being loved for me is not going to be in the cards. I don’t believe in fairy tales of any kind. I’m just a see the writing on the wall type of guy.

Love me or hate me I don’t care. I have beliefs and opinions that form my convictions that manifested through my own trials and errors in my life. I am willing to be open minded to change or tweak them with those that are sincere and honest with there’s but you won’t get anywhere with me by being ignorant.

I hold a lot back. I do bite my tongue. Sometimes I just want to go off in my own humorous but thought provoking truth telling mode. Certain people’s drama or ignorance makes me want to actually say, “Dumbass” and add to that.

Captain Jack Sparrow: If I could be any movie character it would be him. I love Depp's portrayal which is hilariously endearing but I grasp the battle within Sparrow of right versus wrong but still trying to get what you want. I can relate to that. In a way we’re all Pirates.

I can't stand %99.9 of politicians in Washington D.C. The ones that make law and run the whole show. They're all high class and white collar privledged aristocrats that know nothing about blue collar people and their struggles.

It's simple. Use fear to control and in turn you profit. You need no proof. Just add an outline in text form and preach it from a pulpit with self-professed holy men or experts and add atmospheres that attract an easily manipulated audience.

According to religious people, I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! Karma was made up like religions. Karma is like comfort food. The thought it helps is psychological. There is no such thing as Karma. It's nice to think what goes around comes back around but it doesn't. Life is a bitch and then you die.

I've let the wrong sort of people in my life. The kind that are nice to you when it's convenient for them but turn their back on you when the crowd or the odds are against you to save face. Gradually through the years I've separated myself from them and the scene.

I’ve never had “real” friends. More like acquaintances through sports and school. They ran me down. I never picked on, picked a fight or held grudges with anyone but somehow I’ve lived my entire life on the outside looking in. I don't get close to people because of this.

I’m one person that does not need alcohol to have a good time. I’m naturally obnoxious, sarcastic and witty. Banter should be my middle name. I’m a goofball with a serious side. Life is too short and hard not to laugh after you cry.

Accompanied with some wit, done right it can be fun for all but done wrong and you’re hoping the tooth fairy still pays for adult teeth that were knocked out.

I'm like the smartest dumb guy or the dumbest smart guy you'll ever know. Either way is giving a gun to an intelligent monkey a real wise thing to do? I tune things out good and sometimes it's a bad thing.

You can't beat Martin & Lewis, Don Rickles, Abbot and Costello and the Three Stooges. I love current comedians like Adam Sandler and Jerry Seinfeld but you can’t go wrong with the classics.

When I'm old I can only hope to mirror Waldorf and Statler in my every day life. It's pretty sad that a grown man can watch these two and laugh his ass off everytime.

To know your future you must know the past. Right there is a guide of what to do, how to do it and what happened when they did it. You can learn from histories triumphs and mistakes. Just think of it as instructions without the asinine terminology or foreign language on the reverse side.

ESPN’s Sportscenter, what else does a man need other than that? Without sports I don't think I could survive. Kind of like some women with shopping.

I'm not much of a drinker but when I do its "Miller time." Miller lite man law! Google that. Enough said.

I think a lot. I over think. I over analyze stuff. I'm hard on myself. I am always pondering and wondering about stuff.

I like art. Though I am not an scholar. I prefer surreal art that makes me think or open my eyes. It could be a painting or photography. To me certain surreal art could mean anything to the person looking at it.

I'm a star gazer. It doesn't matter if it’s 80 degrees or 20 degrees outside. If it’s a clear night you'll spot me having a nice quiet moment looking up. It’s an ocean up there of endless possibilities and illuminating enlightenment. Your welcome to join.

I’m not a pervert but I do notice the girl in the bikini like the next guy. I just happen to believe a well-dressed lady is far more appealing than a least dressed one. There is a difference between an attention whore and having class. I know it when I see it.

I think at some point all men once their brain fully develops around age thirty must realize the beauty inside a woman is far more important and just as or greater of an catalyst to soothe their desires, needs and loins with what they see on the outside.

Frank Sinatra is a mood setter. "Fly me to the moon", "Summer wind" and "The way you look tonight" are my favorites but his greatest hit CD it's hard to pick just one. Linkin Park is my favorite band but how can you not like Sinatra?

To me life is an always learning process. No one ever gets it or knows it all. Some just become better at living than others. The difference between a flawed person and sociopath is a moral conscious. It’s the ability to admit when you’re wrong and stay humbled when you’re right.

My achillies heel

Your face is like your word. If it is not good, no one wants anything to do with it. The first rule to a successful dating relationship is attraction. Next is personality and then common interests. It is my burden I must live with. I did not ask for this but in my life I've been judged over it. To live like this is like living with that awful feeling right before you're about to cry every day of your life. You just have to deal with it. There is no easy way.

We live in a shallow and superficial world filled with materialistic desires like trophy wives, pin-ups, pool boys and rock stars. Then there are the rest of us that just want true love but don't fit the part. I'm forced to live in my own dark castle.

I fight my demons every day. It's every negative, ignorant and boorish thing certain people have said to me over my entire life. It's also what I see in the mirror when I shave. I've been judged, stereotyped and overlooked because of this curse of which is a burden. It's made me a functioning depressive.

All I can be is me. I'm not changing for anyone. I'll change for me. Evolution make spir that a bit as I continue to live my life. In my life I've got the message that I'm not good enough. Be it people, dating, sports or other. I walk this world understanding somewhere someone has it worse but that doesn't mean what I have gone through and continue to deal with doesn't hurt. I try to keep moving forward.
