Moral of the story - Do it yourself no matter what

I was a little lazy last Friday night. It was a long day. I was beat. I was leaving work and didn't realize I still had my work keys and scan card in my pocket. I was on the first floor. I saw a coworker of mine and asked him to take it back up to the office. Sunday rolls around and I get this facebook message from another coworker. He said the security guard found my keys in the snow Friday night. The scan card is missing. The guard gave him the keys. I told him I gave my keys and card to so and so to put it back in the office. I was like what the hell?!

The coworker I gave my work keys took personal days for Monday and Tuesday. When I spoke to him on Wednesday he said he gave the keys to the security guard so they could get in the building. He told them to put the keys back in the office. The problem with that is they are not allowed in our office. My coworker told me it was the black security guard. Security has there own set of keys and scan cards. I went to ask the coworker who emailed me. He told me it was the white guard that relieved him that gave him the keys. I was like what the fuck?!

This is just crazy. It was a simple task. I was lazy. More like tired and wanting to get the hell out of dodge. I didn't want to go back up the elevator. The guy was going up as I was coming down. I did not think it was going to cause all these problems. I know this guy is not telling the truth. For whatever reason he just can't say yes I lost your keys. I'm sorry. When I was leaving last night he asked do you have a smoke for me. He bums cigarettes. I told him I was out. I had a full pack in my pocket. I just didn't have a cigarette for him. I have no respect for this guy.
